MAP SCANS FROM MY COLLECTION

Every road map that I scan in here is out of copyright, and now in the public domain. The year that determines whther or not a map is still copyrighted is 1963. If it has a copyright notice, published before 1963, and not since renewed, it is no longer protected by copyright law. On this page you will find high quality scans I have made of a sliver of my road map collection, arranged by year of publishing. To view the maps themselves, in 200 or 150 DPI, click on the links beside the thumbnail of each map.

ABOUT MY ROAD MAP COLLECTION

Since I began collecting maps in 2003, my collection has grown to include 868 individual road maps (as of 13 September 2010), from 1923 to 2010. The maps that interest me the very most are those printed 1962 and earlier, state official highway maps, and road maps of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. If you would like for me to scan in a certain map I have that was published before 1963, contact me at nickbeland (at) gmail (dot) com. The charge is $5 for one side, $8 for both sides. I will upload the files to my website, as well as send you the original 200 DPI scans by email.

CATALOGUE OF MY COLLECTION

I am in the process of compiling an Excel spreadsheet containing information about my collection, I will have this completed by winter 2010. It will have my entire collection catalogued by multiple fields.
